A 19-year-old Hermosa man has been charged with aggravated DUI in a crash that killed a 58-year-old man Saturday on the Near West Side, police said.
Chicago police identified Yonatan D. Monrroy-Madrid as the driver of a Jeep SUV who on Saturday afternoon was driving west on Hubbard Street near Ashland Avenue in the West Town neighborhood, according to a news release.
He ignored traffic signals, which resulted in a crash that killed the man and injured three others, police said.
Monrroy-Madrid, of the 2200 block of North Knox Avenue, was charged with felony aggravated DUI and two other misdemeanor DUI-related charges. He also was issued citations for driving without insurance, not stopping at a stop sign and failing to reduce speed.
He is expected in court Monday.
