West Ham have loaned Scotland international Robert Snodgrass to Aston Villa after only six months and 15 matches at the club.

At Villa, where he will play until the end of the season, Snodgrass will reconnect with Steve Bruce, his manager during his days at Hull City.

“I am delighted. I had offers from other clubs, but the decision was very simple. When you see the Aston Villa name, it evokes history, tradition, and unconditional fans, and that makes it a very attractive team,” said the Scottish.

“It is rare to see Villa in the Championship, and I want to be part of the team that takes it back to the Premier League. I am anxious to being,” he added.

Snodgrass, 29, and 25 times international, arrived at West Ham from Hull -having previously played for Norwich, Leeds United, and Livingston- in January of this year for 10 million pounds, but barely had any continuity at the London club, only featuring in 15 matches.
