Denise Williams, 36, is the owner of Pure Barre in The Glen Town Center. She has owned the workout facility since it opened in May 2016. She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. She received her master’s degree in entrepreneurship from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2010. She married her husband Jeff Williams seven years ago, and the couple is expecting their first child. Williams lives in Glenview and grew up in Orland Park.

Q: What do you enjoy most about owning Pure Barre?

A: I love it. I got into this when my husband and I lived in Geneva. When Pure Barre opened there, I was a client and I saw significant results. I realized I wanted to help people reach their goals. Since I went to business school I decided to open this facility. I love getting to know the clients and helping them with their goals.

Q: How would you motivate others to begin working out?

A: I think when you can put the energy in yourself you become your better self. I think it helps in all aspects of your life so it’s very important to work on. Just like how you schedule an appointment for the doctor, scheduling a workout is important for your health.

Q: Who do you look up to?

A: My parents. They both have lived a well-balanced life and have worked really hard to provide opportunities for my brother and myself. They are very open minded people, out going and really get involved in the community.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: Hopefully being the best mom and getting more involved in the community. Hopefully still changing clients lives here at Pure Barre.

Q: Do you have any words of wisdom for the community?

A: Each new day is a new beginning. Each day is a chance to start over, whether its your goals or state of mind.
