Schoolchildren chip in for injured officer
Students at Indiana School in Park Forest mounted a coin drive to benefit critically injured Park Forest police Officer Tim Jones. The students raised more than $1,036. Principal Camilla Covington and students Maryam Beg and Mia Lewis recently presented the check to Park Forest police Officer Julius Moore. The coin drive was initiated because the Indiana School students wanted to show their support for Jones, who suffered gunshot wounds to his head while on duty in March 2016.
