Julie Venn, 47, has been the manager of the Orange Theory Fitness in Carillon Square since April. Prior to working for Orange Theory Fitness, she was a personal trainer. She has been married to her husband, Jim, for 17 years, and they have two daughters ages 16 and 12. She lives in Glenview and grew up in Deerfield.

Q: What is your favorite part about working at Orange Theory Fitness?

A: I love helping people reach their fitness goals.

Q: What do you enjoy about working out?

A: I enjoy feeling great and maintaining overall health as I age. I enjoy being in a community that shares my passion for working out.

Q: What would you say to encourage someone to work out?

A: You have to put yourself first. We have 60 classes a week starting at 5 a.m., and I can guarantee I can find a workout that works for you. But first you have to put yourself first.

Q: Who do you look up to?

A: The person I most admire is my husband. He is an optimist. He is always a positive force, always sees the good in a situation.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?

A: I finished fourth in the country with a softball team I played with in Deerfield.

Q: How would you spend an unexpected day off?

A: I would work out. I would walk the dog, and then I’d put my feet up and watch television and drink wine.
