The Gary Police Department is seeking information about an armed robbery Monday morning in Gary.
The man entered the Family Dollar store at about 8:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of Melton Road in Gary armed with a silver handgun, police said.
“The male came through the check out lane and told the cashier to give him the money from the register,” said Lt. Dawn Westerfield, department spokesman.
No one was injured during the incident, she said.
Police describe the man as about 6 feet tall with a light complexion and slim build.
