The Fox Valley Park District will host the annual Family New Year’s Eve Bash from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Vaughan Athletic Center, 2121 W. Indian Trail, Aurora.
Giant inflatables will be available for climbing and bouncing by both kids and adults, interactive games will be available and there will be a balloon drop. A Hula Hoop contest will also be held, and there will be dancing and a light show.
Registration is encouraged to guarantee admission and a party bag with favors and snacks, district officials said. Advance tickets are $10, and children 2 years old and younger get in free. Registration the day of the event is $13. Participants can register at fvpd.org or 630-907-9600.
Hands-on science activities ring in the new year
SciTech Hands On Museum in downtown Aurora will host its annual Noon Year’s Eve party on Saturday.
Hands-on activities and games will be offered and raffles will be held, including prizes such as an escape room experience from Chicago Lock, annual passes to Legoland Discovery Center, Chicago Wolves tickets and a cheesecake raffle sponsored by Eli’s Cheesecake.
Tickets in advance are $10 for ages 4 and up, $3 for ages 3 and under. Tickets can be purchased at scitechmuseum.org. Tickets purchased at the door are $15 for ages 4 and up or $3 for children 3 and under. Member tickets are $10 for ages 4 and up and $3 for ages 3 and under. Memberships can also be purchased at scitechmuseum.org.
The Noon Year’s Eve Party is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at SciTech Hands On Museum, 18 West Benton St., Aurora.
Crafting event at Oswego church
Resolution Church in Oswego will host Messy Church, an event which will feature hands-on crafts, experiments, art and cooking, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4.
Participants can see demonstrations and then make crafts and perform experiments with their family. Bible stories will be read as well.
Dinner will be provided. The event is free but donations are welcome, church officials said.
