When meeting with the survivors of the massacre in Florida, the President had a list of talking points. He had to be reminded to say “I hear you.” That is pretty sad, but understandable coming from the man with no empathy.
Giving teachers a gun is insane. Did anyone go to school here? Do you remember your teachers? Would you give any of them a gun? Do you think they want a gun? What kind of country do we live in when the solution to this problem would be to arm our teachers?
I am so proud of these teenagers in Florida. Our adults are so broken, out of control and unfixable. They have shown us that money is their God.
The NRA doesn’t care about helping provide law enforcement. They only care about unfettered access to firearms. Why else would they fight for people who are mentally deranged to retain their rights to own a gun?
It’s kind of sad that the first thing many in the extreme right said about the Florida teens, is that they were being coached to say what they said. This is called projection, and it is their life. They get daily talking points, and because they do this, everyone else does it too.
An 18-year-old student in Griffith “forgot” and brought a loaded gun to school. He reported it to the resource officer and was arrested. My question is, why in the world does a high school student even have a loaded gun in the first place?
A new Quinnipiac poll shows a 97 percent approval rating for universal background checks, and being a gun owner my whole life I’m all for them to. Then when people suggest that the NRA and Republicans are in bed with each other and Trump supporters are too, are they just talking about the remaining 3 percent of them. Because 97 percent would include people from all political persuasions wouldn’t it? Or did a Trump hater just lose their mind.
The Republicans have constantly criticized public school teachers, saying that they were unqualified and ineffective. But now, all of a sudden, these same teachers are qualified enough to be trusted to carry firearms around our children.
Now they want to call people insane and special to avoid the facts that there are too many guns. Stop unloading $32 billion worth of guns on our streets.
The spoiled Canadian women’s hockey player should have played better rather than show what a low class person she is by ripping the silver medal from her neck.
So many of these Republicans are refusing to make a statement on this massacre in Florida. They only know one thing — more guns are the only solution to gun violence. That’s how money brainwashes you to think the way they want you to think.
There is no silver bullet to eliminate repeat school shootings like we just had in Florida. You can outlaw sales of assault rifles and bump stocks, but a deranged soul with pump shotgun can just as easily kill 17 children. So could a homemade bomb placed inside a school bus or a truck plowing through a crowd of children exiting school. I don’t agree with arming teachers. Isolate the mentally deranged from buying guns will never work — you violate their rights. No silver bullet.
A school in Texas is threatening it’s students that they will be suspended if they choose to protest the massacre in Florida. Just great — silence these young minds that want to make a difference. Face a threat with an action. The entire school needs to walk out.
Time for all of the old guys in Congress to retire. Go spend some of that money — stimulate the economy.
