Too many opinions
Although I live in Lake County, we are subjected to all the Cook County political ads that run non-stop during election season. I understand why the NRA is the hot topic of the season. However, what does supporting no guns in schools, banning assault weapons and standing up to the NRA have to do with electing the ” Democrats assessor, Joe Berrios ?” I believe in those same things, but that only qualifies me to have an opinion, not a job. I guess that’s why this state is so bankrupt — too many opinions and not enough qualifications elected to office.
Good story
“If guns are taken away from us, only the criminals will have guns,” is the outcry every time a crime is committed with a gun. Great front-page newspaper article traced a legally purchased gun that ended up killing Chicago Police Cmdr. Paul Bauer. The article explains how the criminals get these guns, since you don’t know how criminals obtain guns. Like “someone” is supposed to keep guns magically out of their hands. What is stupid: Your remark or the article?
Check for insurance
People do not have car insurance because the personnel at the DMV office will not check for insurance before giving out license plates. The law in Illinois is that you must have car insurance. This is where the problem starts.
Who’s going to pay?
J.B. for governor said he wants to give 230,000 children breakfast at school. The children already get free lunch. This will allow the parents to have more money to buy cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. So how will J.B. pay for all these meals? I guess, raise the taxes which is not a problem for J.B.
More residency checks
I attended the Beach Park school district board meeting and want to thank Howe staff for speaking up to try to have residency checks for all district residents yearly. I am appalled that our board members allow out-of-district students to stay in our overcrowded schools on our tax dollar. My taxes are outrageous, and here are parents who admittedly scam the system by claiming homelessness, falsify addresses, etc., and instead of kicking them out, they get special servIces for all their kids and are allowed to stay without paying a dime. Wake up BPSD3 residents. See what your tax dollars are paying for? Howe school is knowingly full of out-of-district students, along with the rest of the district schools. Hire more residency officers and put tax dollars to good use.
