A fire on the 200 block of Clark Street in Aurora has left a home uninhabitable.

A passerby May 1 saw smoke coming from the house and called 911. When Aurora firefighters got there at 1:32 p.m., they saw saw flames coming from the roof of the porch on the front of the house, according to a press release from the Aurora Fire Department.

The firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the main body of the fire from the outside of the house, the release stated.

A total of 21 firefighters were needed to bring the incident to a close. No one was injured during the blaze, according to the release.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials said.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $25,000, according to the release. The structure is deemed uninhabitable and the residents are all staying in the area, fire officials said.
