A 51-year-old Zion man was seriously injured when his motorcycle went off the roadway and into a wooded area in Antioch Township Monday evening.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 43000 block of North Trevor Road after the crash, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said.
The investigation showed the man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Trevor Road when, for an unknown reason, he left the roadway and went into a wooded area where he was ejected from the motorcycle, Covelli said.
The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to St. Catherine’s Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., in serious condition, he said.
The accident is being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
