Preschool students raise Alzheimer funds
Preschool students at The Goddard School of Elgin raised more than $3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association in a dance-a-thon last month.
The money will go to raise awareness for those struggling with Alzheimer’s and family members who are supporting someone or who have lost a loved one to the disease.
The dance-a-thon was held June 21, the longest day of the year, as a symbol to remember how long the days are when caring for an afflicted family member.
The school picked this charity because its owner, Sheryl Nelson, lost her grandparents and her mom to this disease.
