On Tuesday, First Floor Theater announced casting for the Chicago premiere of “Hooded, or Being Black for Dummies” by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm.

The show will feature company member Andrew Cutler with Jalen Gilbert, Caroline Hendricks, Jayson Lee, Lauren Pizzi Montgomery, Casey Morris, Brian Nelson Jr. and Maggie Scrantom.

The show follows two fourteen-year-old black boys who exist in two totally different worlds: Marquis, a book smart prep-schooler and Tru, a street-savvy kid from the inner city of Baltimore. Their worlds overlap one day in a holding cell.

The production will run from Oct. 20 — Nov. 17 at the Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave; firstfloortheater.com
