For the first 15 months of Opal Lang’s life, every checkup seemed fine until her doctor noticed a slow heart beat. A year ago, she spent the holidays at Lurie Children’s Hospital waiting for a heart transplant and on Christmas Eve, Cardinal Blase Cupich prayed with Opal’s parents.
