A crisp autumn morning greeted families who were eager to say goodbye to summer at the Park District of Oak Park’s annual fall fest Sept. 29.

Families visiting the Oak Park Conservatory and adjacent Rehm Park could ride the Rehm trains, pose for photos on the park district tractor, navigate an inflatable corn maze and take a hayride. All children attending the event got to pick their own pumpkin from the conservatory’s pumpkin patch free of charge.
Guests also enjoyed food vendors, rides, amusements, a live DJ and other fall-themed games.
Inside the conservatory, families could visit the fall harvest market and purchase conservatory-grown mums, fall pansies, fall containers, broom corn, unusual pumpkins, gourds, strawberries and more. They could also view plants and animals in their native ecosystems.
