Trump just gave the Medal of Honor to a man who laughed and joked about Eric Garner not being able to breathe, ridiculed and mocked Michael J. Fox for having Parkinson’s Disease, and laughed about Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s cancer. A great example of the character and integrity in the White House.
For the last 400 years, my ancestors assessed the situations in their homelands, determined they would be better off somewhere else, and came here to start again. As much as it pains me, I’m starting to think it’s time to get off this sinking ship of a country. I don’t know how much rank stupidity I can tolerate. I used to really love America, but the open bigotry and hatred that’s celebrated is too much. Over half of the U.S. Senate has openly announced that corruption is fine as long as it means getting their way. That’s not the America I know. Republicans, you are destroying the country you claim to love.
This current EPA, under the direction of President Trump, keeps reversing previous EPA regulations and putting more carcinogenic materials into our water, air and soil. The Republicans must must love the skyrocketing cancer and autoimmune disease rates, while making sure health care is inaccessible.
I watch this (speech) every year for obvious reasons. This was the best one ever, and it kept me glued to my chair. Looks like the Democrats were glued to their chairs as well, but out of TDS hate and nothing else. At first, I thought everyone was standing and and clapping, but then new camera angles showed only the Republicans were applauding. At first, I laughed at the scowls on the Democrat faces and their efforts to show their efforts to show they were ignoring the speech. But as it went on, and made me mad for their lack of patriotism. Next year, they can all stay home.
I empathize and hope for the best outcome of any cancer victim, but the day I see Rush Limbaugh applauded and bestowed a Medal of Freedom in our Capitol at a State of the Union, is the day we see fascism and hate become the recognizable danger we must resist.
Once again Donald Trump lies to the American people. His State of the Union speech like every thing else that comes out of his mouth was full of lies. Trump “We have built over 500 miles of border wall.” Fact, as of November 2019 they have built 74 miles of wall, most of which is replacement and none of which has been paid for by Mexico. Trump “we will always protect patients with pre-existing conditions.” Fact, Trump is pushing a federal law suit which would strip protection from patients with pre-existing conditions.
Isn’t Regina Pimental supposed to step down as chief deputy of the Lake County Recorder’s office in order to run for Recorder?
More than a dozen of the Republicans who voted to convict Bill Clinton on charges that had nothing to do with national security will vote today to acquit Donald Trump on charges that did have national security implications. These are people who make laws that the rest of us must live by. Their hypocrisy is infuriating, and matched only by their sheer stupidity.
Last night, Trump said we will always protect Social Security and Medicare. Last week, he said after the election we will make cuts to Social Security and Medicare to cover our tax cuts. He is even in court right now fighting to remove the ACA and pre existing conditions! Look at the facts. The orange man speaks with forked tongue.
Can Rand Paul be impeached or censored or imprisoned (or something, anything) for revealing classified information? Or are federal laws protecting whistleblowers just some more of those quaint American laws Republicans find it too inconvenient to recognize or enforce?
One Republican Senator said that she would vote to acquit Trump because the charges brought against him were “deeply partisan.” Puhleese. As if Republican votes to acquit Trump in spite of the evidence were not “deeply partisan.”
Best State of the Union speech ever. President Trump has more class in his little finger than Pelosi has all day. You don’t shake the hands of someone who’s holding a knife to stab you in the back. And her childish display of tearing up the speech was just that. Spoiled brat didn’t get her way so she’s going to stamp her feet on the way out. And not soon enough for me.
