An Indianapolis man was shot dead in Gary early Monday, police said.
Gary officers arrived around 1:48 a.m. July 13 and found a crowd surrounding a man on the sidewalk behind the 200 block of East 16th Avenue, police said in a release. The man, identified by the Lake County Coroner’s office as Robert Crawford, of the 1800 block of Ludlow Avenue in Indianapolis, was unresponsive and appeared to have sustained multiple gun shots, according to police.
The Coroner’s office declared him dead around 3:15 a.m., according to a release.
