Friday morning marked the end of a 42-year run for Harry’s Cafe serving up coffee to commuters from the coffee truck parked at the Naperville train station.

Dozens of people came out Friday morning for coffee and to say thanks to Harry and Kathy Buenger, owners of the coffee business.

As most people have switched to working from home or commuting by car due to the coronavirus pandemic, Harry Buenger said business dropped about 98%. But Friday morning was bustling.

Harry Buenger talked to longtime customers outside the truck while Kathy Buenger served up the coffee and morning snacks from inside the truck. One man called Harry’s Cafe an institution.

Kathy Buenger said it’s been “heartwarming” to see hundreds of people come out for coffee since Tuesday, when the closure was announced.
