According to police, a man wearing a mask approached the resident at about 11:42 p.m. in the 300 block of Clinton Avenue and attempted to “remove property” from the resident.

Police said the resident then began to run away and the gunman fired the gun at the resident, striking him in the thigh and shoulder.

The resident was transported in stable condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said. No immediate update on the resident’s condition was available Friday morning, police said.
