Retired Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long on Thursday sold his five-bedroom, 6,238-square-foot mansion in Lake Forest for $2.5 million.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection during his seven-year career with the Bears, Long, 31, retired from football in January after missing much of the 2019 season due to injuries.
Long took a loss on the mansion, which he bought in 2016 for $2.56 million. He first listed it in real estate agents’ private listing network and found a buyer while it was still listed privately.
His listing agent, Erica Goldman of Jameson Sotheby’s, did not respond to a request for comment on the listing. She placed it in the public real estate multiple listing service July 17, with its status indicating that the house was under contract to sell.
Built in 1990, Long’s mansion is in east Lake Forest and has 61/2 bathrooms, four fireplaces, a lower level with a theater and an exercise room, a library with built-ins and a fireplace, a second-floor laundry room and a kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances. Outside on the 1.26-acre property are a pool and spa, a heated three-car garage and a heated circular driveway.
The mansion had a $44,600 tax bill in 2019.
