A person was injured in a shooting or possible paintball shooting Thursday afternoon near a South Side Burger King, officials said.

The attack happened about 2 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Halsted Street, according to Officer Jessica Rocco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman Larry Langford said there was a report of someone shot with a paintball but no one was taken to a hospital by a city ambulance.

Police responded to multiple calls of a “person down” and one call of a person shot, said Rocco, who was citing preliminary information.
