A family was displaced after a house fire Tuesday evening on Aurora’s East Side, officials said.
Aurora firefighters responded around 7:20 p.m. to a structure fire in the 1800 block of Bluestem Circle, Aurora Fire Department officials said.
Upon arrival, crews saw a two-story, single-family home with heavy fire showing from an attached garage, according to a department press release.
Crews began to use their deck gun to start extinguishing the fire while hose lines were deployed to protect adjacent houses, officials said.
After the fire was rapidly spreading, a truck company used an aerial ladder for a stream of water to knock the main body of the fire down, according to the release.
Fire crews remained on scene for two hours and put out hot spots, officials said.
The house is deemed uninhabitable and damage is estimated at $225,000, officials said. Victim Services was called to the scene to assist two adults and one child who were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Aurora Fire Department officials said.
