Editor’s note: As the situation regarding coronavirus continues to evolve, some area shelters and foster groups have closed to the public, while others are only open by appointment. Contact them first before showing up.

The Community Star prints adoptable pet information weekly. Area shelters, rescues and foster groups can send contact information along with jpg photos of available pets — using Pets of the Week in the subject line — to news editor Paul Eisenberg at peisenberg@tribpub.com.

Dorian has some skin irritation due to stress he experiences from being at the shelter and has been put on a limited ingredient diet and occasionally wears a T-shirt. Dorian loves to play and hasn't been taught that nibbling on humans isn't playing, so we feel he'd do best in an adult only home. He's ok with other cats, but he sometimes nibbles on them too.

Rizzo is 3 years old and recently enjoyed some time in a foster home, which allowed his true personality to shine. He loves to snuggle as well as spend time racing around the house when he has the zoomies. Rizzo would do best in a home with older children, as sometimes his playful behavior involves a little nipping, or a home that appreciates his need to be active.

Tyson likes to play but could use some training as he sometimes gets a little ramped up. He is already a step ahead of the game, as he will sit immediately upon command. He is also treat-motivated. He seems to walk well on a leash and is tolerant of most other dogs.

Henry is a 4-year-old male terrier mix with a long scar on his back from when he was a puppy that does not seem to bother him. He is playful, active and friendly. He knows sit but would benefit from additional training.
