A garage attached to townhomes on Aurora’s far East Side was damaged in a fire Thursday, Aurora Fire Department officials said.

Aurora firefighters responded to a fire around 7:46 a.m. in the 3100 block of Bromley Lane to find a two-story, four-unit townhouse with moderate smoke in one of the units, fire officials said in a news release.

Crews located a fire in an attached garage and quickly extinguished the fire, officials said. The fire was contained to the garage and did not spread.

Damage from the fire is estimated at $20,000, according to officials. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
