If you don’t sow empathy in life, don’t expect to reap it in death.

It breaks your heart to see how the people of Texas are suffering. But they’ve wholeheartedly supported their state policy of isolating the Texas power grid from the rest of the nation, and for what reason? To avoid federal regulation. This is what happens when a state is in the complete control of the Republican party and believes that any government regulation is bad. Former Texas governor and one-time Secretary of Energy Rick Perry in fact said on Wednesday that the people of Texas would be more than willing to suffer “two or three days of hardship” to avoid federal regulation of their energy industry. Is he kidding? Texans are sick, starving, freezing, and dying. But you can be sure that Perry has never suffered a single day of hardship in his life.

Sorry, but I’ll shed no tears for Rush Limbaugh. When I think of him I recall him saying of Obama, “I hope he fails.” That’s how much this two-bit huckster loved our country. The president who actually did fail gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump. What a pair. Is that what America is all about?

Todd Rokita and his stolen election claims are an embarrassment to the state of Indiana.

Senator Ted Cruz thinks that his sole duty is to criticize and antagonize the other political side. But when a disaster hits his own state of Texas, he runs away and takes a vacation to Cancun, instead of helping the people he represents. Typical Republican.

Young and Braun might have done what Trump wanted, but their attitude and voting record is destroying the state of Indiana, the Republican party, and our chance to retain a democracy.

Since we can’t recall Todd Rokita for his outright lies about our election, can we at least censure this Republican lunatic? Indiana will never be able to shed its backward reputation as long as we have representatives removed from reality.

Mike Madigan, the former Illinois House Speaker, is set to resign his seat. Well, it sure is about time. He is the classic example of the reason for term limits. These people get so entrenched in their sense of entitlement that they usually die in office, before ever leaving. This has to stop.

Republicans are showing more empathy for Rush Limbaugh than the five people who died on January 6, or the 490,000 that died from COVID-19.

In local elections, there is a time limit to put up and remove all campaign signs. Why are federal campaign signs allowed to be up three months after an election?

The only party doing any cancelling is the Republican party. They accuse the Democrats of cancel culture but are quite fond of censure of anyone who voted to find Trump guilty of inciting violence. They are silencing them in a direct attempt to cancel their freedom of speech.

The Texas utility problems should remind us of how thankful we should be for our utility systems. I am not aware of any major issues during this cold and snowy period in our area. Kudos to NIPSCO, INDIANA-AMERICAN WATER and any other gas, light or water company that kept us warm, lighted and hydrated! Please, just don’t raise your rates!

Good news for Texans! Donald and Melania are on a Mission of Mercy. They are on their way to Texas, and Melania is wearing her “I really don’t care” jacket and Donnie is bringing paper towels. Such humanitarians.

Republicans want to claim that the impeachment proceedings will be divisive. How much more can we divide this country? Who would believe the Republicans would make any kind of effort to support

Bill O’Reilly reflected on the passing of Rush Limbaugh by saying “The legacy of Rush Limbaugh is clear: Mr. Limbaugh provided a conservative balance against the dangerous left wing corporate media machine.” Right, because in their distorted world, any competition, was worse than Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.
