No pro sports for me

I stopped watching the NFL and the NBA when they knelt for our national anthem. I will now stop watching Major League Baseball since they have moved the All Star game out of Georgia because the state requires ID to vote. What? This only leaves college sports, which may follow the same path if the Supreme Court allows the athletes to be paid.

Rattling our windows

Mayor Cunningham says that our chief of police is a professional. Well, he is a very poor professional. He can’t even take care of the simplest traffic control problem, like cars racing around our streets with loud mufflers and loud car speakers rattling our windows.

Do better

Oh my goodness, we are all God’s children. Act like it. Jesus died for our sins. We need to do better to earn that.

Groceries and guns

If Illinois passed an open and carry law, would you go grocery shopping with a long gun and why?

Stop the shootings

Nationwide, starting with Chicago, banish darkening film on vehicle windows. Now it’s darker than dark. Stop the shootings.

Praising the paper

I just want to give the paper credit for a couple of things. First, the in-depth coverage of election candidates from all the local towns, school districts and townships. The interviews were great, getting a close look at each candidate, and their views and agendas. Second, the sports columns of Paul Sullivan. Paul is a great reporter, and always has a novel and interesting approach to talking about sports teams and issues. Would love to see him everyday in the sports section. Third, Talk of the County is always the first thing I look at in the paper. Sometimes I agree and sometimes not with the comments, but it’s always interesting to see what people are thinking and what they have to say. Anyone who takes the time to comment deserves to be heard. Keep up the good things you do.
