Now I’m hearing that Louis DeJoy, the postmaster general that the previous president appointed to mess with our postal system, is going to be messing with it even further. He wants even more delays, He wants to ship all mail by rail instead of using airplanes, he wants to close certain post offices around the country. What is wrong with this man? We pay taxes. Apparently Trump cannot get rid of him. I don’t know why the man is still in office.

The fact that the people of Blue Island elected 37-year-old party boy Fred Bilotto as their mayor is stunning to me. I lived in Blue Island for many years, over 20 years, and I was there at the time that Bilotto and his pals had a little pool party where somebody ended up dead, there were naked swimmers and someone having sex in the Memorial Park facility. And all after midnight because Bilotto said they could and to bring their swim suits. This is once again the story of these privileged white men who feel enabled because their parents and this whole political dynasty that has run Blue Island continues to go on.

OK, so let me get this straight regarding Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. She can proclaim that she will only allow one-on-one interviews with Black or brown reporters of color, is that right? Isn’t white a color too, just asking? Sure seems a racist position to me. Could you imagine the media uproar if a white mayor or governor stated that they would only allow interviews with white Caucasian reporters. How long would it take for them to be forced out of office or resignation?

Instead of being critical of the lack of diversity of the City Hall press corps, Mayor Lightfoot should be thankful that most of the reporters covering the city are progressive liberal whites, primarily male, according to the mayor. She gets far more favorable coverage and support than she merits given the magnitude of problems throughout the city.

I’m just wondering as a white person how the mayor of Chicago can constantly talk just Black and brown when there are white people in Chicago. How can she stand up there and say I am a Black lesbian and I will only be doing interviews with Black and brown people?
