Enough feet dragging: Here’s the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. The Republicans wanted this independent investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection, they made many demands on what they wanted for this committee. The Democrats agreed and the vote was taken, and the Republicans still voted no. Now there is a select committee being formed by Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats and they’re allowing the Republicans to put members on this also bipartisan committee. The Republicans once again are dragging their feet or they’re going to put on people like Matt Gaetz or the crazy Marjorie Taylor Greene. They’re trying to whitewash, ignore and hope this insurrection goes away.
Not a good deal: When exactly did the Republican Party trade in their ethics for an honorary membership in the Mar-a-Lago Beach & Racket Club? Better yet, why would anyone pledge that exclusive fraternity unless there was a signing bonus attached or the ever-present threat of recrimination for saying “no thanks” not included?
Players need glasses: Unfortunately as a Cubs fan this year, when the Cubs take the field they all look defeated. I’ve watched baseball for many years and never seen a baseball team like the Cubs, who don’t even have a clue what the strike zone is. They swing at pitches that are not even close to the strike zone. Little League Baseball players have a better knowledge of the strike zone.
Cal Thomas wrong again: Columnist Cat Thomas just doesn’t get it, once again. He claims that standards of right and wrong are being abandoned by our woke culture and that we are told to tolerate anything. Actually, it’s just the opposite. Traditional values such as love thy neighbor, all men are created equal, e pluribus unum and even democracy itself are values that have been attacked not only by the growth of racism, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, and oligarchy and despotism, but by the stupid obstinacy of one Cal Thomas.
Ancient history: We are all the result of our ancestors. Human history is full of wars, conflicts and disagreements. Whatever they had to do to survive may have offended somebody along the way. Everyone alive today owes a debt of gratitude to all the people who came before them. If my people offended your people, I’m sorry. Please get over it.
