Organizers of Naperville’s Last Fling, held annually on Labor Day weekend, have announced they will be holding a carnival and other family-related activities as part of the event.

The free festival, held by the Naperville Jaycees in the area of the downtown Riverwalk Amphitheater off Jackson Avenue, is scheduled for Sept. 3-6.

Already announced are the headlining musical acts: 7th Heaven on Sept. 3, Hi Infidelity, Sept. 4; 16 Candles, Sept. 5; and Libido Funk Circus, Sept. 6.

There will also be a Labor Day parade at 10 a.m. Sept. 6, starting at Naperville North High School and proceeding south on Mill Street, east on Jefferson Avenue, south on Main Street, and west on Porter Avenue until it reaches Naperville Central High School.

Family attractions include a princess photo op; eating contests with cotton candy, cupcakes and spaghetti; a reptile and amphibian exhibit; and Irish dancing.

The carnival will be open for the run of the festival. Access times for special needs children and adults is 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 5.

While there is no entrance fee, nonperishable food and financial donations will be accepted at all gates, a news release said.

Last Fling is the Jaycees’ largest fundraiser, and has raised more than $2 million for nonprofit organizations in Naperville and DuPage County over the last 20 years, according to the release.
