Last night our family watched the film “Die Hard.” Thirty years later, not much has changed. The people who are supposed to be in charge, like the police chief and the two FBI men, are clueless, inept jerks. They do not listen to advice or reason. These are supposed to be the smartest people we have, the most competent and capable. These days people like this are still in charge, and that is the sad part.

Guns and the gun culture have become our new religion, unfortunately. The zeal that Second Amendment folks have for their guns has superseded their enthusiasm and faith in their former religion. They have their own language, rituals and lack of understanding for nonbelievers. They used to be afraid that their religious values and practices were being denied or devalued but now they mostly fear gun regulation. Many don’t say a peep over bloated military cost but have a fit over domestic programs that actually improve our way of life. Pray for us all.

About 75% of TV viewing is commercials, and I’d like to know why.

I’m surprised that I haven’t heard the Democrats telling us that the tornadoes are Donald Trump’s fault. I’m sure if he were president, the claims would have been quick and furious.

Jussie Smollett should throw himself on the mercy of the court, admit he’s a lousy actor and admit he’s a much lousier director.

If Aaron Rodgers owned the Bears, maybe he could fire Nagy and Pace and get some good replacements.

Increased violence throughout Thornton District 205 and the leaders don’t know why. There’s a big increase of in-school aggression from students. Hint: this violence happens in public schools anywhere there’s a heavy gang culture. Different gangs recruit and indoctrinate high school aged kids. They’re put together at their schools, fights then happen. If you want to cut down the school violence, you have to eliminate the source, gangs.
