The Community Star prints adoptable pet information weekly. Area shelters, rescues and foster groups can send contact information along with jpg photos of available pets — using Pets of the Week in the subject line — to news editor Paul Eisenberg at peisenberg@tribpub.com.
People and dog friendly, 8-year-old, calm, confident, loving Charlie relishes toys, walks and car rides too.
Three-year-old female Lab mix Dulcinea and 5-year-old male Lab mix Wally are a bonded pair looking for a new home. They are well-behaved, laid back dogs that love to go for walks and snuggle together. They are good with children and other dogs.
Meet Lilibeth, a 3-year-old dilute tortie looking for the perfect perch to call home. She sticks to herself most of the time, but she doesn’t seem bothered by most cats. She’d much prefer to be by her people, but being a calico, she will let you know when she’s had enough attention.
Benny is a fun-loving pup that came in with a large open wound on his ribs and many old wounds on his neck from the shock collar he had been wearing. Benny is all healed up and ready for a home that will help him learn with positive reinforcement. He’s such a nice boy, and obviously ridiculously cute.
Jersey is a lovely 1-year-old shepherd/Rottweiler mix who was brought in by police when she was found living in a basement with many other dogs. She can be fearful of people sometimes and tries to scare people away when they come to see her in her cage. But if you take her out, you’ll know she is just a scared but loving girl that needs to find a person who won’t let her down. Jersey does wonderful with other dogs at the shelter. She would be best with an experienced owner with no small children.
