Find the courage to stand up
It is shameful that Republicans have put being elected by their constituents above integrity, the Constitution and knowing what is right. Regardless of party affiliation, all members of Congress take the same oath to protect and defend the Constitution for all of us. They do not take an oath to their constituents. They do not take an oath to the president. They take the oath to the Constitution for justice and liberty for all Americans, regardless of whether their guy wins or loses the presidency. So when their supporters are the ones who terrorize our country and try to destroy democracy, they need to stand up and tell them it is not OK. It shall not be tolerated. We all need to defend our Constitution, even if our guy doesn’t win. When the former president continues to twist the truth and spread falsehoods, Republicans need to show integrity. Find the courage to stand up, call out the former president and his extremist supporters who continue to twist the truth and repeat lies. The future of our democracy depends on it. Former Republicans are counting on you, so they can return to the party. If not, we will continue to vote for Democrats.

Is Liz Cheney from Wyoming part of the peanut gallery or what? Where are you getting, your information, second- and third-hand? Liz Cheney, you deserve to be ousted and I hope you don’t get reelected.
Words matter
While I agree with Ald. Lynn Florian that the intent of the state legislation on cannabis was to grant equitable access to the market for minority communities, and I support her contention that the city’s share of the revenue generated should be poured back into those city neighborhoods in most need. But, I believe that labeling this as reparations does more harm than good. Terms like reparations, defunding the police and critical race theory have been twisted to mean something never intended and, in some circles, the very use of these terms generates instant opposition. Let’s just call this what it is — a local initiative to apply windfall city revenues where it benefits all residents most, especially the majority Black and Brown communities, within the context of the intent of the legislation. Please stop applying these national politically charged slogans to local initiatives. Words matter.
Having a senior moment?
Donald Trump promised to end the “forever wars,” and have troops out completely by Jan. 15, 2021, causing an outcry from senior Republicans. This was to be completed three days before Joe Biden’s inauguration. Was Donald too busy planning the insurrection? Are the senior Republicans having a senior moment?
How about bonehead?
I just read the dribble from a Trump supporter about the pipeline that was canceled. I write this slowly. That pipeline was to be used to transport oil from Canada to our Gulf Coast, where it would be shipped overseas. It had no effect on our gas prices. The supply chain problems started with Dirty Donnie, when he started sending checks to the citizens who were out of work because of the pandemic. Remember when Donnie wanted his signature on all the checks? Inflation is a direct result of the pandemic-related economy. The supply chain issues started under Donnie, when people decided to stay home and collect the Donnie dollars instead of going to work. Donnie even put a moratorium on evictions, which allowed deadbeats to sit back without a worry. Many in my neighborhood apparently spent their money on illegal fireworks. You don’t like “Bone Spurs?” How about bonehead, a moniker that you can also use.
Get married first
The child tax credit is getting to be a little too much in this country. If two people have sex and make a baby, it should not be the government’s responsibility. Nor should it be my tax dollars supporting all the babies created my some man that runs away from his responsibility. Then the man makes a baby with another women, and she then wants child tax credit and free food. Women wake up to the smooth talking men you go out with. Get married first.

My heartfelt thanks to all the police departments in our area and around the country who put their lives on the line every single day keeping us safe. A police officer never knows even when they make a simple traffic stop what might happen. They have to be careful and vigilant at all times due to the number of bad creeps out there in the world. So again, thank you and please be safe.
