Fear and ignorance: Preventing schools from teaching about slavery and racism will not solve any of our cultural problems in the US. Fear and ignorance do not solve problems; they only bury them to be unearthed later. None of us here today created racism or asked to be born into a racist system, and in this way we are blameless. But we also have a responsibility to dismantle a system that hurts so many of us — really, all of us. Yes, facing reality can hurt, but it’s only through pain and struggle that we grow, as individuals and as a culture. Think carefully about who might want a new generation of miseducated voters. I don’t think these are the people we want leading our towns, our states or our country.

Living in different times: The GOP recently censured its own members for simply doing the right thing. Thank God the party didn’t exist when Washington, Jefferson and Franklin declared our independence!

Freedom of stupidity: Do you remember when someone said something stupid, you would say, “Oh, my gosh, that’s stupid,” and go on with your life. Now if you say anything stupid, you are in danger of getting fired and socially banned. Freedom of speech should mean that you can say anything you want no matter how stupid. Get over it.

Time for next generation: It appears that the Blackhawks have come full circle from the poor performance and empty seats of the William Wirtz-era to the Stanley Cups of the Rocky Wirtz organization and now a return to the doldrums, including a temper tantrum by the owner. It’s quite sad to see a winner like the Blackhawks and Rocky Wirtz decline to hard times. It must be especially difficult for longtime winners like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Maybe it’s time for rebuilding by the next generation in the Wirtz family.

Say no to Chinese Olympics: I hope many Americans do the right thing by boycotting the 2022 Communist Chinese Party propaganda Olympics in Beijing. Why in God’s good name would we want to allow them an international forum to promote their great reset agenda and COVID-19 virus lies and also putting our great USA athletes in a potentially dangerous situation. NBC clicked off.

From celeb to dead: I just heard about the police officer who told off the governor of Washington because he refused to get a vaccine and then lost his job. He became a celebrity and featured on Fox News, and he died recently of COVID-19. It is so sick the people in Fox News sit in their cozy offices and they are vaccinated — they couldn’t go in that building unless they were — and they’re talking to all these people to contribute to this anti-vax media nonsense. It’s practically criminal.
