A man died early Saturday when he crashed the car he was driving on the city’s Far South Side, according to Chicago police.
He was behind the wheel of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala heading south in the 12200 block of Avenue O when he plowed into a median, causing the car to burst into flames, police said.
The driver, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at 2:20 a.m.
The Major Accidents Unit was investigating.
