The CTA is dealing with spiking crime and complaints about nuisance behavior. Ticketing data shows most violations in 2021 were for alcohol consumption and smoking on the train. CTA and CPD recently announced efforts to add more police officers and unarmed security guards, focusing on the Red or Blue Lines.
