The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion in Aurora Township Wednesday evening, officials said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call from a resident who said three men forced their way into the home on the 1600 block of Solfisburg Avenue in an unincorporated area near Aurora around 9:54 p.m, officials said in a news release.
The men wore masks and were allegedly armed with handguns, police said. They unsuccessfully attempted to enter a safe inside the home and stole two guns from the house before leaving, according to the release.
The resident was not injured during the incident, officials said.
Deputies said some evidence was recovered at the scene. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Kane County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 630-444-1103.
