Here’s a friendly Memorial Day reminder: Being a patriot and supporting the former guy who not only attempted to overthrow our government and is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, but also called service members who were killed in action “losers” and “suckers”, are incompatible. You can either support that lumpy road cone with a wig or you can honor our troops, but not both.

The mass killings are only the start of the suffering. Witnesses, whether injured or not, will suffer post-traumatic stress for life. The whole town will suffer from fear, anxiety and stress for years. Republicans’ “Guns for Everyone!” policy is traumatizing America, one town at a time. And they don’t care. At all. Why on earth would you vote for them?

Mental illness has always existed, and will never disappear. It can’t be banned. But assault rifles can.

Pretty sad that the Chesterton police only react to the YEARS of semis disregarding the red lights after a popular swim coach is hurt. Now we all know what it takes.

If trained police are too scared to take on someone with an AK-15, we have to stop asking teachers to do it!

Do you think the gun store owners or their employees feel guilty if a weapon they sold was used in a mass shooting?

As a Democrat, I’m still waiting for the Democratic party to get some backbone and fight back.

Should law enforcement salaries be based on the standardized test scores of our students? Ridiculous, you say? That is not their job. Then don’t arm teachers. For the very same reason.

Michigan City police arrested a 23-year-old only for having a gun without a permit. In July, the state goes permitless … think about that.

Why are the Republicans so interested in expanding gun rights rather than voting rights?

This may sound a little off beat, but I have a suggestion that just might prevent or delay a potential risky person from purchasing a lethal weapon. Why not apply a variation of our traditional wedding vows to the process of purchasing a gun? Just before the presiding individual finalizes the marriage, he will make the statement “If anyone has reason to believe these two should not be joined together, speak now or forever hold your peace!” Why not require gun sellers to post through media services a list of persons who are trying to purchase a gun. Then allow the public to anonymously give reason why the seller should deny the purchase. The procedure would be processed through police departments with appropriate appeals. Communities and cities would be urged to review these lists on a regular basis. I bet policemen alone would be able to identify a bunch of questionable characters. This along with background checks could possibly save a lot of lives.

Biden went to Texas because of the shooting. Trump would have gone to the Golf Course or a NRA Political Rally. Republicans always follow the money.

Putting Republicans in charge of gun safety is like putting Bluto from “Animal House” in charge of drinking responsibly.

If there are no “Military style” assault weapons, there would not be so many killings? If that logic works, then why don’t we make heroin, meth, and crack illegal??

The NRA should be listed as a domestic terrorist organization.
