Food trucks, concerts at Panton Mill Park this week
South Elgin family-friendly activities planned for Wednesday and Thursday, July 13-14, at Panton Mill Park along the Fox River.
The Perk-n-Pickle food truck will be selling a variety of American fare from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
At 6:30 p.m. the same day, The Moods will present Motown and other soul music classics and Mexican street food will be available from the Fernando Street Kitchen truck, which will be set up from 6 to 8 p.m.
From 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, the Elgin Community College Concert Band is scheduled to perform. The band features local musicians of all ages who play a wide selection of music.

Volunteers being sought to deliver meals to seniors
Volunteers are needed to deliver frozen meals to seniors in southern Kane County on July 13 and 20, according to AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP group officials.
Volunteers will pick up the boxed meals from the Aurora Senior Center between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and deliver them to seniors.

Secretary of State’s mobile unit to be in South Elgin
State Rep. Dan Ugaste, R-Geneva, and state Sen. Don DeWitte, R-St. Charles, will be hosting the Illinois Secretary of State’s mobile unit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the South Elgin Public Works Building, 1000 Bowes Road.
Services available include driver’s license and state ID renewal, replacement and correction; license plate renewal stickers sales; organ/tissue donor registration; motor voter registration; and vision screening.
No Real ID cards can be obtained at the mobile unit. Only credit cards, debit cards and checks will be accepted for payment. Anyone 75 or older must visit a Secretary of State Driver Services facility to renew their driver’s license.

Friday deadline to take Carpentersville water survey
Residents who live in Carpentersville’s Old Town are asked to complete a water services survey by Friday, July 15.
The Carpentersville Public Works Department has been conducting an inventory of water services to determine which properties have water service lines constructed with lead. The project is mandated by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

Geneva’s Concerts in the Park held every Wednesday
The Geneva Park District’s free Concerts in the Park are being held every Wednesday in July.
Those attending are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to River Park, 151 N. River Lane, for the shows, which begin at 7 pm. A food truck and beer from Solemn Oath Brewery will be available for purchase.
Shows scheduled are rock band Sushi Roll on July 13, “Caribbean Rock” group Mr. Myers on July 20 and country music group Wild Daisy on July 27.
River Park is on the west side of the Fox River, just north of Route 38. Parking is available on the street and in nearby city parking lots.

East Dundee water treatment plant holding tours
The East Dundee Public Works Department will be holding tours at 9 and again 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the village’s wastewater treatment plant, 401 Elgin Ave.
Participants will get a look at how wastewater is treated and released.
