To Shelly of Oak Lawn, continue to not do research and only read headlines. The Hillary Clinton case is only superficially similar. One involved documents on a server and the other leaving classified documents and top secret documents laying around a resort.

Mark, Orland Park

Shelly of Oak Lawn, like so many others has a very short memory. She asks when the FBI is going to go after Hillary Clinton. Well, the Trump administration had four years to go after her. In case you missed it, Congressional committees run by Republicans spent over $80 million investigating her. She sat for 11 hours of interrogation by Republican House committees and they didn’t lay a glove on her. They didn’t find anything worthy of indictment. And, oh yes, unlike Trump and his associates, she didn’t have to take the Fifth Amendment even once

I saw the front page story about the woman in Flossmoor that was killed by the police. I would like to know where the outrage is every day of the week when there are multiple car jackings, expressway shootings, drive-by shootings. Totally innocent people are killed every day by these gang banger thugs. Why are these people not coming forward then with their outrage?

Yes, I just have one question. If the gas tax is being used for roads, bridges and public transportation to help them along, what are electric cars going to do to bring gas tax back to the marketplace? They’re using the same roads, bridges and public transportation.

What needs to be done is you got to get juries that have a spine and stop rewarding criminals with money, and you need a change in the laws that stops lawyers for bringing frivolous lawsuits.

Patrick, Burbank

The former president stated if this can happen to me, it can happen to you. What is true is the reverse. If this can happen to us, it can happen to you. I’m guessing the former president doesn’t know more about the law than the lawyers, as he claims. He loves all this attention so he can wail, I’m a victim, send me money. No privilege for the supposed wealthy.

When illegal immigrants are asked where they want to go, they answer D.C., New York or Florida. They know enough not to ask to go to Chicago.

Bill, Plainfield

I really enjoy the commercials asking how much longer can we afford Gov. Pritzker? I couldn’t afford Jelly Belly the day he took office.

Arlene, Oak Lawn

Would locking up Trump serve the public interest? Absolutely! We made a mistake not going to trial with Nixon and now all politicians seem to think they are above the law. We must hold them to the same standard as any other person.

Mary, Oak Forest

We are in a situation now where our leaders in government forget they took an oath of office to their country and instead feel an oath their party. This is ridiculous and should be stopped. The way to stop this is to have term limits involved. Include term limits for every senator, every representative as we have for the president, Whether this can pass is doubtful because why would they want to vote to end their own sweet life.

Mike, Oak Lawn

I’m very alarmed when I pull up at a stop light and the car next to me has totally black glass. You cannot see whether the person is 10 years old or has a gun pointed at your head. Why are our police allowing this. These vehicles should be ticketed along with the companies who do the darkening. The fine should be steep.

Marilyn, Chicago

it’s been a year since we took off and left Afghanistan by themselves. We left all the people there that we had working for us. We also left a lot of equipment, tanks, guns, you name it. It would have been nice to have it going to Ukraine. Afghanistan is now taken over by the bad guys. We let him have it because we wimped out and left early. And we’re going to leave Ukraine probably the same way. Whenever we touch and put our hands in, they end up losing.

The hypocrisy of the Democrats continues. The new bill the house passed was supported and pushed through by the Democrats. Joe Biden and Democrats already weaponized the FBI and the Department of Justice. Now with inside the FBI weaponizing the IRS hiring 87, 000 new agents, they will be armed and can use force if we don’t obey. This is why they want to take our guns away. Remember the Democrats claiming when President Trump was elected that he would be a dictator. Hmmm, who’s the dictator now? Joe Biden

Do the citizens of Illinois realize what’s in the SAFE-T Law which will go into effect Jan. 1? No cash bail for violent and nonviolent suspected offenders alike. Everyone on the street with an ankle bracelet. Past criminal history kept secret. It’s time to contact your state legislators. This law needs to be overturned.

Pat, Lemont

There is no doubt that democracy is our only hope for survival as a nation, and the way to preserve it requires our citizens to turn out and vote. I would add one additional task. When citizens vote, I would urge them to vote for candidates who exhibit the following traits: sincerity, personal integrity, humility, courtesy, wisdom and charity. Our democracy will thrive and prosper for future generations with leaders who possess those traits.

Ned, Tinley Park

I miss the $5 footlong sandwiches at Subway. I hated the commercials, but the price was right. The footlong veggie is now $8.29, and a 6-inch is $5.79. Essentially, we’re getting half the sandwich we used to get and we’re paying 79 cents more for it.

Joan, Oak Forest

Why do the Blacks in Flossmoor fail to understand that if you just obey what a police officer tells you to do, that you will not end up dead?

Jim, Flossmoor
