George H. Isa, 38, of Niles, was charged Aug. 19 with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, after attempting to slash the throat of a man with whom he was in an argument, Niles police said Monday.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

According to a police press release, Isa was in a verbal dispute with a 41 year old male in a parking lot on the 8000 block of West Foster Lane. At some point during the disagreement, Isa attempted to slash the man’s throat with a pocket knife at about 2:50 p.m. Friday, police said.

The victim “sustained a superficial laceration to the throat” and refused further treatment after an initial evaluation by paramedics, police said.

After attending bond court Aug. 20, Isa is being held at Cook County Jail on a $50,000 D bond, per police.
