Longtime Lincoln Square bar The Grafton, known for its Irish comfort food and cozy backroom musical jams, announced Wednesday it will close this weekend.
Owners Malcolm and Andrea Malloy made the announcement on social media. They did not provide a reason for closing.
“We are very proud with what we have accomplished over the past 20 years,” the Malloys said in a statement. “As new chapters unfold for our family and our staff we hold on to the great memories we have all shared at The Grafton.”
The Malloys were not available for comment.
The Tribune has described a Grafton hamburger as “sinfully fulfilling and hedonistically yummy.”
Open for nearly 20 years at 4530 N. Lincoln Ave., the bar was a popular gathering spot for students from the nearby Old Town School of Folk Music.
