The Cook County medical examiner’s office the following homicides this week.

Jaiya Ratliff, 18, of Calumet Park, was pronounced dead at 1:11 p.m. Sept 5 following a shooting on the 12300 block of Green Street. The medical examiner reported the death was the result of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled it a homicide.

In another Calumet Park case, a 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m. Sept. 6 after a shooting on the 12700 block of Ashland Avenue. No name was provided, but the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide from multiple gunshot wounds.

The office also listed as a homicide the death a 2-month-old Wisconsin boy who had been staying overnight with his parents at a Monee truck stop and suffered a medical emergency. Monee police and the Will County state’s attorney’s office were investigating.

Police said they responded just before 9 a.m. Aug. 31 to the Petro Truck Stop, 5915 Monee Manhattan Road, just east of Interstate 57, for a call of an infant in distress and not breathing. Paramedics were able to resuscitate the infant, who was taken to Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, then transferred to University of Chicago Medicine’s Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m. Sept. 2.
