The Gary Public Transportation Corp. wants feedback from riders that could lead to service changes.

Input is requested from Route 1 Lakeshore Connection and Route 4 Lakeshore South riders. The two routes are part of the six regional routes that reach Calumet Township, Crown Point, East Chicago, Griffith, Hammond, Highland, Hobart, Merrillville, and Munster.

This survey includes inquiries about route frequency and expanding service to north Hammond and Whiting.

The Route R1 Lakeshore Connection includes stops at the South Shore Clark Road station, Buffington Harbor, Chicago Avenue at Indianapolis Boulevard, and the East Chicago South Shore station. The Route R4 Lakeshore South includes stops at St. Margaret Hospital, Purdue University Calumet, and Indianapolis Boulevard at Ridge Road, and the Target/Hammond Clinic area.

Some advantages of this service change would include additional new stops, such as the North Hammond Walmart, casinos, Calumet College, and Whiting, and the expansion into Saturday service. Some disadvantages of this service change would be the reduction of trips on the Route R4 bus and a longer route trip time between Whiting and Munster.

This multiple-choice survey takes about one minute and GPTC encourages riders to participate.
