How does an incompetent man like Diego Morales win office in Indiana? He had an “R” after his name, and voter apathy. Our state will continue its slide into mediocrity under the GOP. Our saving grace is a win for a Democrat, Frank Mrvan. I’m glad gerrymandering did not deny us a competent congressman. Lake County once again stands up for a true democracy.
You just know that Trump will cry “fraud” of any election lost by one of the “low quality” candidates he endorsed. Kari Lake, who’s apparently losing her bid for the governorship in Arizona, is not waiting for Trump, but yowling about fraud herself.
I was happy to see my neighbor remove his Trump yard sign after the last election. I will be equally happy to see the Green sign get to its proper destiny and be placed in his garbage can.
Apparently, I am not the only one who refused to vote for election deniers.
The voters have spoken. It is more important to get an abortion than to eliminate the worst inflation in over 40 years or break away from $5 gasoline. Not to me, but apparently it was this way for the uninformed!
There is a church in downtown Griffith that has a giant “Jennifer-Ruth Green” sign facing Broad Street. Churches are not supposed to endorse candidates so all their income needs to be taxed. The IRS will be notified.
There’s been a lot of complaining about all the campaign ads, but think of it. Candidates for all offices across the country spent nearly $17 billion on this election. $17 BILLION! That’s a simply staggering amount. Thanks, Supreme Court conservatives, for your 2010 Citizens United ruling, which has allowed this obscene, largely anonymous spending on elections. The super-wealthy are simply buying our government.
I don’t get it. We have the highest inflation is 40 years, gas prices the highest in my life time, (and I’ve been around over 75 years), we have an open border where as may as 8,000 cross per day, (source CBP), and the people of our district go back and elect the same politicians who put us there. I would have rather voted for a shoehorn then vote for a Democrat. However, the people have spoken.
The Quickly writer who says they will cancel their P-T subscription after 20 years because the editors only print liberal comments must be a very limited reader. I mean this in two different ways. First, apparently they only read Quickly and still doesn’t understand submissions rule the day, not the Quickly editors. They need to read the entire P-T and might find the P-T is perhaps more conservative than other leading publications. In my opinion, the P-T is amazingly fair and balanced. I just wish they would expand the content and coverage and be more current in the news! Second, the writer appears to be somewhat limited in their understanding of what is happening and has happened in Lake County. LC leans Democratic. If they want a bunch of conservative comments, they should consider reading newspapers from West Virginia, Wyoming or Kentucky! By the way, I bet they won’t cancel. I suspect despite their complaint, they loves Quickly. Quickly is addicting. There is no vaccine for the painful onset of withdrawal!
In my crossword puzzles, the clue was ConMan and the answer was liar. I guess that’s all you need to know about the former guy who reportedly told over 14,000 lies while in office.
Hate to say it, but when somebody as unprincipled and provably incompetent as Diego Morales wins an election, you have to wonder if democracy actually does work. Morales had exactly one qualification: an (R) in front of his name on the ballot. Of course, you could say that of just about any GOP candidate in Indiana.
Lake County voters like their freebies. They do not like jobs and they do not like to pay their property taxes. We saw that Tuesday!
