A Zion man was killed Wednesday evening by gunfire, according to Lake County authorities.
The coroner’s office Thursday identified the man as 42-year-old David Garibay. Autopsy results indicate he died from multiple gunshot wounds, Coroner Jennifer Banek’s office said.
Zion police responded Wednesday night to the 2700 block of Hebron Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire and found Garibay outside.
He was transported to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, where he was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. The shooting remains under investigation by Zion police and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
