The village of Buffalo Grove is currently looking for residents to step up and volunteer to sit on the town’s new Community Events Committee.
In a village news release where officials make the appeal for volunteers, the committee is described as one that “will help envision the future of both current and prospective community events in Buffalo Grove.”
Village spokeswoman Molly Gillespie told Pioneer Press that the Buffalo Grove is looking for volunteers who are interested in planning an array of event-related activities.
Whether a village member wants to volunteer the-day-of or help with community outreach, Gillespie residents are encouraged to apply to be of help for a variety of events.
“We’re looking for any and everyone that’s interested in getting the community together here in Buffalo Grove,” said Gillespie.
The main event currently in the works is Buffalo Grove Days, the village’s annual festival which takes place on the weekend of Labor Day.
In addition to this, Gillespie explained, there are a variety of other community events residents could help plan, such as ones involving the local Rotary Club, car shows and barbecue challenges.
Officials said more information, as well as the application, is available online.
