‘Camille’ presented

Independent Players present Alexandre Dumas Fils’ “La Dame aux Camelias” (commonly known as “Camille”) at 7:30 p.m. March 17-18 and 2 p.m. March 19 at the Elgin Art Showcase in Elgin. Tickets are $15-$20. At 164 Division St. 847-697-7374; independentplayers.org.

Set in mid-19th century France, “La Dame aux Camilias” is a semiautobiographical story based on author Alexander Dumas Fils’ brief love affair with a courtesan. The world-renown play has not been performed in the Elgin area in more than 50 years.

Yorkville St. Pat’s

The 7th annual St. Patrick’s Celebration kicks off with a parade at 11 a.m. March 18 at Bicentennial Riverfront Park along Hydraulic Avenue in Yorkville. Tickets are free. At 301 E. Hydraulic Ave. 630-553-4350; yorkville.il.us/632/St-Patricks-Day-Celebration.

The event features an Irish parade, Lucky Leprechaun hunt from 9 a.m. to noon at Yorkville parks, live music throughout the day and fireworks at 6:30 p.m. at Route 47 and Countryside Parkway.
