Residents around the Fox Valley will head to the polls Tuesday to vote in a wide variety of races, and also cast ballots on a number of referendum questions.

Election contests in the area include races for city council and village board seats, school board positions, library and park board spots and more.

There are also a number of referendum questions to be decided upon, including ones involving the Batavia School District, the city of Batavia, Kaneland School District, Sugar Grove Public Library, the village of Elburn, Oswego Fire Protection District and more.

Kane County voters who observe or experience voting problems or irregularities during Tuesday’s consolidated election should call the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to a press release from the office.

The election complaint line will be available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone who experiences or witnesses any possible illegal election activity, such as electioneering, illegally placed campaign signs or denial of voting rights at any of Kane County’s 292 voting precincts, should call 630-208-5328, according to the release.

The complaint line will be staffed by representatives of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. Assistant state’s attorneys will take the complaints about potential violations and are prepared to travel to polling places to ensure compliance with state election laws, according to officials.

The complaint line is for Election Day only, and it is not for election questions, such as polling times and places, according to the release.

Voters in need of election information should call the Kane County Clerk’s Election Help Line at 630-232-5990, according to the release.
