Police responded at 8:52 p.m. April 6 to the area of Eola Road and Village Green Drive in Aurora for a three-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation shows a 32-year-old man driving a southbound car crossed the median and struck a car traveling northbound, officials said.
Dickerson was driving the northbound car, which was then struck by a third vehicle traveling behind Dickerson’s car.

The Welch Elementary Parent Teacher Association posted on Facebook that it would like to comfort all the teachers, staff, students and families as they grieve the loss of Dickerson.
The PTA said it provided lunch on Monday to teachers and staff at the school to help ease their pain. Dickerson had been a teacher at Welch for two years but was a teacher In School District 204 for many more.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser for Dickerson’s family created by the Hinsdale South High School Counseling Department, Dickerson worked as a teacher for a long time and was a “caring, patient, strong and beautiful” wife and mother. Dickerson’s husband is a counselor at the high school.
The GoFundMe states Dickerson leaves behind her husband, Jim, and their two children, Macy and Charlie.
