Now it’s come down to lawsuits? Valparaiso University president Jose Padilla and the University’s Board of Directors have a lot to answer for, destroying the reputation of an institution in just a few months that it took more than 150 years to build. They claim it’s all about “student needs,” but how are student needs being served by tarnishing the reputation of their alma mater? And where are alumni in all this? Every unprincipled move Padilla and the Board make lessens the reputational value of a degree they might have earned with pride many years ago. It’s shameful, but University officials are apparently too vain and stubborn to reverse course.
Tucker Carlson is now unemployed, and let’s hope he stays that way.
Tucker Carlson found Jesus and quit The Fox Reality Show. Mike Lindell will be taking his place and now get free advertising for his pillows instead of a salary.
What’s with all these southern politicians and their childish “anti-woke” crusade? Alabama Governor Kay Ivey is the latest to join the ranks of the deplorables by firing the Alabama Director of Early Childhood Education, after Ivey found a book in some state school libraries that offended her finely-tuned sensitivities by including (gasp!) “woke concepts.” The book suggested that at some time in history there just might actually have been RACISM in Alabama! As if Birmingham and Selma are located in some other state? It’s so stupid and it’s so dishonest and it’s so downright immoral. In other words, it’s so Republican.
What’s there for Democrats not to love that 70% of Republicans say they still support Donald Trump and want him as their candidate in 2024? He lost the House, he lost the Senate, he lost the Presidency, he’s been impeached twice, he’s been indicted once already and there are more indictments to come. Go ahead, GOP, hook your wagon to this dumpy loser with the fake hair. MAGA!
Dear area bar, restaurant, and venue owners: Lots of you have “no gang colors” policies for good reasons. You know that if you let people wearing colors hang out, your place of business will quickly become associated with that gang and problems well occur. Unfortunately, with the rise of fascism, you and your staff need to extend that policy to hate groups and kick those guys out when they show up wearing colors. I’ve seen Proud Boys in local venues. Unless you want to be associated with Nazis, Proud Boys, or other fascist groups, you need to be aware of their uniforms and symbols and kick them out as soon as they show up. You don’t want to be the region’s newest Nazi bar, do you?
There is nothing wrong with a Democrat that an honest job could not cure! Having a job is not as fearful as the Democrats tell them.
What conceivable excuse could legislatures in 30 states have for refusing to pass “red-flag” laws? Of course they always fall back on the weak-kneed excuse that they don’t want to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of “law-abiding citizens,” even if those law-abiders are shown to be stark raving mad and a danger to themselves and others. It’s unbelievable that the NRA and the gun lobby should have such unchecked power. The NRA describes red flag laws in scarily grim terms as “judicial nullification of Second Amendment rights,” and of course it bitterly opposes them. No surprise there. What person should be kept from being well armed? The gun industry needs the business.
